1. What's the difference between an ordinary filling and a CEREC restoration?

CEREC restorations make your tooth look totally natural; nobody but you will know your tooth was filled! Another advantage is that unlike silver fillings which contain mercury, CEREC restorations are made from porcelain, which is totally metal-free.

Other advantages include biocompatibility, resistance to plaque-which can lead to gum disease and tooth loss-and increased strength. CEREC restorations are so precise, they actually bond to your tooth and return it to its original strength. Mercury fillings are pliable and have a tendency to leak.

2. What are veneers?

Veneers are thin porcelain "shells" that are bonded to teeth to totally rejuvenate a smile. Veneers are a safe, conservative and extremely effective technique to correct gaps, chips, stains and other imperfections. Porcelain, which reflects light just like real teeth, is the ideal material for veneers.

3. What about dental insurance?

We will gladly complete all the paperwork your carrier requires to expedite your treatment coverage. For services not covered by your insurance, we expect payment when these services are delivered.

4. Do I need to have an X-ray?

It's very important for us to be able to have a clear and full picture regarding the condition of your teeth and jaws before treatment. For this reason, almost every treatment we perform requires an X-ray. For your safety, we often use a panoramic X-ray that takes one, low-radiation exposure for a single view of the whole mouth.

5. What is preventive dentistry?

Preventive dentistry is where we see you regularly and monitor the state of your oral health on an ongoing basis. This lets us diagnose and deal with dental problems before they become large, painful and expensive.

Regular hygiene appointments, where we examine your teeth and conduct a deep, professional cleaning, are the mainstays of a good preventive program which can include treatments such as sealants, fluoride and other preventive measures.

Preventive dentistry also includes good home care so brush, floss and smile!

6. Do I need anesthesia?

Because of our investment in dental technology, many of our procedures are so painless that many patients don't need anesthesia.

Even when anesthesia is recommended for your maximum comfort, our new no-needle IntraFlow Anesthesia Delivery System brings almost instant comfort without the lingering numbness to lips, jaw, tongue and cheek you may have experienced with conventional syringe injections.
